Watch out for this label on games before buying them

While South Africa may be a bit late to the VR party, the games are still coming and in full force.

That means plenty of PS4 and PC retail titles will be hitting store shelves that will only be VR-capable.

While those of you who follow gaming news quite closely will know which games will only support VR, Sony has also begun issuing game boxes with compatibility labels attached.

Any games with these labels attached to the bottom-right corner will be unplayable unless you have a VR headset.

This is what they will look like:

This is arguably actually more of a problem on Steam, where nearly the entire international catalogue of games are available to South African users.

Here there are actually two tags to watch out for, making things a bit trickier.

Some games are HTC Vive and/or Oculus supported – meaning they can play games in VR but it’s not a requirement.

Other games require a VR-headset meaning thye won’t start at all unless a headset is connected and detected by your PC.

Fortunately Steam also has an orange warning box for these games if you don’t catch the symbols the first time.
