Speaking to Norwegian magazine Gamer, DICE’s Patrick Bach said the following:
“The game is still early in development, but I can tell you that Battlefield 3 will have the largest maps we have ever made”
Now, that wouldn’t be saying much if it was coming from any other developer, but DICE franchise is responsible for some epically massive multiplayer maps, so if it’s true then we may be looking at a whole new level of multiplayer scale with Battlefield 3.
DICE has previously confirmed that the PC version of Battlefield 3 will feature up to 64 players per map, although the console versions will be scaled back with less players and smaller maps.
Not much has been shared about Battlefield 3, but it is shaping up to be potential the biggest game of 2011, although that’s not to say it will outsell the next Call of Duty.
