The Wii 2 (or Project Café, if you want to sound thick) might be packing some internal bits and pieces to rival the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but if current rumours are anything to go on, it’s not exactly standing up to its peers when it comes to internal storage capacity stats.
According to Kotaku’s industry spies, the next gen Nintendo console has only 8 GB of internal storage capacity, which is just about nothing compared to the weapons-grade Xbox’s 250 GB and the PS3’s whatever-HDD-you-put-in-there (or 320 GB, standard). The same sources are also claiming the console’s disc format holds up to 25 GB of data, however, which easily beats out the Xbox’s 9 GB or so.
Nintendo has remained resolutely noncommittal about Wii 2 rumours for the moment, but is expected to make a huge reveal at E3 in June, where everybody will pretend to be really surprised about it all.
