So what do you do next when you’re a developer which has spent the past 10 years making a name for itself developing PC exclusive historically accurate strategy war games based on various periods in human history?
You make a console game about aliens.
Creative Assembly may be best known for the Total War series, but it looks like its next step will be into the final frontier. At a press event in England, the developer announced that it is busy working on a game which targets the “core console gamer” based on the Alien franchise.
Creative Assembly also mentioned that it plans to beef up its Horsham based staff count for the space game from 160 to 200 within the next year.
The game will not be shown off at this year’s E3, and it is unlikely that anything more will be revealed any time soon.
Creative Assembly has actually already released action-adventure spin off games to the Total War series, including Spartan: Total Warrior which was released on console, so this will not be completely new territory for the developer.
