EA has announced new multiplayer DLC for Dead Space 2, in the hideous, gore-clotted form of the Outbreak Map Pack.
The DLC add-on includes two new multiplayer maps, The Academy and Concourse, which veteran Concordance Extraction Corp engineers may recognise from murky, barely repressed memories of their last tour of duty around the Sprawl (THESCREAMINGOHITNEVERSTOPS).
And the best bit (besides all the severed baby limbs, obviously) is that the Outbreak Map Pack is 100% free. Maybe this will get people actually playing the criminally underrated Dead Space 2’s multiplayer mode, which is somewhat similar to Left 4 Dead’s Versus mode, but better because it’s in space and has aliens and strategic dismemberment. The idea is to lure you in, then trap you so you can never leave, even if that means cutting off your legs.
The DLC is scheduled to launch 31 May on Xbox, and 3 June on PS3. Sorry PC gamers, nothing for you.
