Former lead writer for the Half-Life series Marc Laidlaw has published the “third episode” of Half-Life 2 to his blog.

His site appears to be overwhelmed by traffic following the publication of the post, and it may be read on Archive.org.

Titled “Epistle 3”, the story is told in the form of a letter from “Gertrude Fremont, Ph.D”, although fans of the series will recognise where he changed the names. A version of his post with the “correct” names is available on Pastebin.

Laidlaw’s post comes three months after the last remaining writer who worked on the Half-Life series, Chet Faliszek, left Valve.

Laidlaw left Valve in 2016, while fellow writer Erik Wolpaw departed in February.
