Razer is working on a handheld gaming and entertainment device

Razer is developing a mobile device geared towards gaming and entertainment.

Speaking in an interview with CNBC, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed the project was under development and said it would hopefully be completed by the end of the year.

Tan said the mobile market is a key area for the company, and that they would have an increased focus on entertainment as well as gaming going forward.

Razer plans to go public before the end of 2017 at an expected value of between $3-5 billion.
