Web Africa yesterday launched a new Home ADSL product range with pricing as low as R12 per GB
Web Africa have unveiled their new Home Connect product – an ADSL package whereby bandwidth is allocated according to a home user’s needs – at competitive prices.
Web Africa is passing the benefits of quiet network periods on to their subscribers by implementing peak hours and after hours data allocations.
With high off-peak bandwidth allocations (which also applies to weekends and public holidays) overall data prices are reduced to between R12 and R14 per GB.
All packages will still qualify for Web Africa’s existing ADSL add-ons, such as a discounted ADSL line rental and lower cost “Download Plus” data between midnight and 6am.
“Along with the new product launch Download Plus limits have been increased, and all Home Connect packages will have the option to add on as much as 200GB Download Plus, at just R8 a GB,” Web Africa said.
The following table provides an overview of Web Africa’s new Home Connect product range.

“We have specifically designed this product for home users who are looking for good value for their money and don’t want to spend a fortune on quality ADSL,” said Cliff Hazell, Head of Product and Marketing at Web Africa.
“The majority of home users’ bandwidth is utilised outside of business hours or on weekends, allowing us to offer ‘off peak’ usage at much lower rates, whilst still providing sufficient bandwidth for normal peak-time usage and pass the value on to our customers.”
Web Africa pointed out that the previous Home ADSL Data and Complete products will be discontinued for new customers and no longer available for purchase.
Customers who subscribe to these products will not be affected and will be able to upgrade via the DSL Console to the new Home Connect product range if they wish.
