Sorry guys – Metal Gear Solid: Rising is officially an E3 no-show. That’s because, according to Konami prez Shinji Hirano, the publisher is prepping “something big” for later this year.
“The reason why we didn’t mention information on Rising at this moment is because we are making something big and that is coming for this winter season,” he told G4TV after the company’ pre-E3 press conference. “So please everybody, expect to see something new for Rising this winter season.”
Since it was originally announced during Microsoft’s presentation at E3 2009, the game has blipped on and off the public radar, with rumours that it has swapped developers at some point, and speculation that it might only be launched in late 2012.
A few weeks ago, Raiden voice actor Quinton Flynn said he had no idea what was going on with the project.
“I am completely in the dark. I have no answers. I have no idea. I have not been approached in anyway shape or form. There has been no communication. There’s been no information and I don’t know what’s going on,” he told Gaming Liberty.
“I’ve tried to make efforts to find out what’s happening and have not been able to get any answers at all.”
…pation.
