Rockstar Games and Team Bondi have omitted over 100 production and development team member’s names from the credits in L.A. Noire.
The game had a protracted development cycle, having been in some sort of development since 2004. This was thanks in part to the implementation of the crazy-good facial animation motion capture technology.
The elements of the game that utilise this motion-cap technology are certainly unique and overall MyGaming came to the conclusion that L.A. Noire is well worth playing.
The people that worked on this unique title should be given due credit. In an e-mail to Eurogamer, the ex-developers explain why they were left out.
“We are writing to you as a group of former Team Bondi developers who worked on the recently released hit console game. The game’s credits roll is missing over 100 names, many of whom we personally worked with during our time there. Others have been credited under ‘Special Thanks’, where they would be eligible to be credited under their relevant discipline.”
These names have been left out “because they were not there during the final month or two of production, or for some other subjective criteria. A significant portion of these people did not leave Team Bondi by choice: they were made redundant as the art production wound down, and as Quality Assurance was shifted off-shore to Rockstar’s studios.”
