The Pirate Bay’s .SE domain is back

25 October 2017

The Pirate Bay’s Swedish domain has been re-registered and points to the torrent index’s website, reported TorrentFreak.

The Pirate Bay bought the Swedish domain as it feared US authorities may seize its original .org domain.

However, it was the Swedish courts which ruled that The Pirate Bay’s domain had to be confiscated and forfeited to the state.

A Swedish Supreme Court appeal is pending, but according to the report, the court ordered the domain to be locked.

TorrentFreak speculated that the domain expired because of the pending court ruling, but the intention was for the domain to be seized or given back to The Pirate Bay.
