As part of Microsoft’s E3 2011 keynote address, the company showed 10 minutes of gameplay from Modern Warfare 3’s single player campaign, and while the game may be a hate magnet for forum users around the world, even the staunchest anti-CoD evangelists have got to admit that it looks pretty darn cool.
The video kicks off with a stealthy underwater scuba section, and leads into what turns out to be a special forces assault on a submarine patrolling the harbour surrounding New York City. What is clear is that despite many key Infinity Ward personnel leaving in the early stages of the game’s development, it still looks and feels like a Modern Warfare game, as opposed to one of Treyarch’s efforts.
Following the submarine action, the player escapes on a rubber duck in what is a rather intense sequence before piloting the boat into the back of a floating helicopter and flying off into the sunset.
