As part of their big WiiU promo-bomb at E3, Nintendo showed off a rather impressive demo reel of third-party titles for the new console, including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Assassin’s Creed, and Ninja Gaiden 3. See, it’s totally going to look just as good on the WiiU as it does on the Xbox and PS3!
Turns out, that’s because the demo reel was running footage from the Xbox and PS3 versions of the game. Who thought this was a good idea? Nintendo’s own president Reggie Fils-Aime, apparently.
Asked if this was in fact the case, Fils-Aime told GameTrailers, “Absolutely, because we’re talking about a year away from when the system is going to launch.”
Well, at least he’s honest, and E3’s all about this kind of stuff, anyway.
“In terms of how good it looks, it’s going to be driven by what the individual developers do,” he explained. “The system is going to be 1080p. It’s going to be high definition. And so, again, tick that box — that’s done. Now it’s about, what is the new experience that we’re going to bring to bear?”
