Microsoft has appointed Minecraft head Matt Booty as corporate VP of Microsoft Studios, VentureBeat reported.
Booty’s new position will see him reporting to Phil Spencer and taking over Microsoft’s relationships with 343 Industries, Mojang, The Coalition, Rare, turn 10 Studios, and Global Publishing.
He will oversee game development and publishing.
Booty joined Microsoft studios in 2010 and worked on first-party games for the Windows Phone platform.
He also led game development teams and publishing on Xbox Live Arcade.
