Deus Ex: HR Collector’s PC – SA allocation reduced

27 June 2011

We have been contacted by an employee from local Square Enix distributor Megarom who told us that the local allocation of the PC version of the Deus Ex: Collector’s Edition for PC has been dramatically reduced. The decision came directly from the publisher, and no reason was provided for the sudden local allocation reduction.

We could not get a definite number, but our source hinted that there will be less than 50 PC Collector’s Editions to go around locally, and that they have all been sold already. Furthermore, South Africa will not be receiving enough PC Collector’s Editions to honour all the local pre-orders that have been made to date, but we could not get details as to how Megarom would be allocating the limited stock.

Suffice to say though, if you have not already placed your pre-order for the PC Collector’s Edition, you’re not getting one.

Furthermore, if you did pre-order, it’s probably worth double checking with the retailer you ordered with to ensure that your pre-order is still being honoured.

There will still be an abundance of PS3 and Xbox 360 Collector’s Editions.

Megarom has also revealed that the price of the Augmented Edition has been increased by R100 on each platform. Previously the Augmented Edition was priced the same as the regular edition.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is being release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 August 26.
