From Dust gets an official PC release date

12 July 2011

From Dust, a game tantalisingly marketed as a “spiritual heir” to Peter Molyneux’s cult darling Populous will be coming to PCs everywhere on 27 July. And hey, that’s this month, so you won’t be waiting very much longer before bringing your divine disaster-based wrath down upon the heads of a helpless bunch of Neolithic troglodytes. Oh, it’ll be just like old times.

Designed by Eric Chahi – probably most notable for the Another World credit on his resumé, as well as Heart of Darkness and Future Wars – the god / lava / tsunami sim recently picked up the E3 Game Critics for “Best Strategy Game”.

From Dust will be launching via Steam, UBIshop, and a number of other digital distributors, and is tagged at $14.99. It’s also scheduled to drop on the Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network at some point, although these dates have not yet been confirmed (with some sources claiming it’s happening the same day as the PC release).
