If you thought the www.modernwarfare3.com URL was owned by Activision, best get thinking again, recruit.
This is war, and the first rule of war is to know your enemy. Which is only partly relevant – further down the list, somewhere in the mid-nineties or so, is the rule that you should secure potential enemy positions before they do. That’s the one we’re talking about.
If you’d already hit the link above, you’d see that URL redirects to Battlefield 3’s official site. TROLLED!
It’s not actually clear at this moment whether EA, DICE, or some rogue Battlefield Defence Force is behind this pre-emptive strike, although investigation has turned up that the URL was registered privately in 2009 already.
According to Kotaku, the site originally featured some pretty standard “BATTLEFIELD R BETTERER THAN CODFAIL LOL”-type commentary, as well as an “anti-Call of Duty video”, whatever that might have been. Apparently some people still think they can tell everybody else how to have fun.
