Call of Duty Elite beta not coming to PC

20 July 2011

Activision’s social media manager, Dan Amrich, has confirmed that there will not be a PC beta for Call of Duty Elite. There will be an open beta for the service in “Summer”, which means soon, and it will be available to Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers.

“PC players will have to wait until the fall to try it out,” said Amrich, who then allayed some confusion with the following statement:

“Looks like some people took “PC players will have to wait until the fall to try it out” to mean there would be a PC beta in the fall. Uh, no — the beta is taking place this summer, and the final Elite service is launching in the fall, on November 8. Therefore…PC players will have to wait until the fall to try it out. I’ve amended the above so it’s more clear.”

The full service will be launched alongside Modern Warfare 3, which is due out on 8 November.
