Robotically charming indie puzzle-adventure Machinarium launched on PC in 2009 to much critical acclaim.
I gave it a solid 82% in the MyGaming review of Machinarium, saying: “Beautiful and detailed artwork, a unique narrative mechanism, an atmospheric musical score, and challenging yet rewarding puzzles all make for a highly recommended title for adventure game lovers. Even after being completed once, Machinarium begs to be explored a few more times. Keeping things in perspective, for an independent team of seven, Machinarium is a highly polished and professional offering. One can practically feel the pride and dedication that went in to creating this title, and you can’t put a rating on that.”
Developer Jakub Dvorský previously revealed that the title should be appearing on PSN sometime in 2011. There probably won’t be an XBLA version, as Dvorský explained “We were already refused by Microsoft to bring the game to Xbox. They weren’t interested because the game was already released for Mac and Windows, and Microsoft demanded it as part of an exclusivity deal. We’re not interested in Microsoft anymore.”
According to Pocket Gamer, Machinarium will now be heading to the iPad. “It’s almost finished, but we still need to fix a lot of small bugs and test it properly. It should be ready during the next month…hopefully,” said Dvorský.
