Carbine to unveil new MMO

31 July 2011

Carbine has been working on a new MMO, which they’ve been keeping pretty tightly under wraps until now. The announcement has been made that the new MMO will be shown off at the upcoming Gamescom in mid-August.

Promises have been made that this won’t be a standard run-of-the-mill MMO either, executive producer Jeremy Gaffney wrote, “We have developed some new ways of making online games; games that can adapt to you instead of the other way ’round.”

The studio certainly boasts an impressive roster. Formed by the lead developer of World of Warcraft, and comprising 17 former Blizzard employees upon formation. Other games team members helped to make include Everquest 1 and 2, City of Heroes and Fallout 2. This host of RPG and MMO talent means we’re unlikely to be disappointed.

Jeremy Gaffney is certainly brimming with confidence, writing, “We have a number of ideas we’ve developed over time about what we think is important in gaming – we think it’s about letting players play how they want, when they want, and with whom they want. We’re gamers that want more out of online gaming, and we’re all ready for the next big MMO.”

Be sure to include this on your “games to watch” lists.
