Polarfluke has quickly become SA’s most established monthly StarCraft II tournament. Last month Polarfluke upped the ante by putting R8,000 in cash prizes on the table, and this month that number is being raised to OVER 9,000!
PolarfluKe: August Rush is set to take place on the weekend of the 6th and 7th of August, and boasts a prize pool of R9,001.
According to PolarfluKe founder Matthew Merks, “We are once again expecting a great turnout including professional gamers from Europe and South Korea”. Germany’s GoOdy and South Korea’s PhoeNix and sunwoo have both already confirmed that they will be competing.
GoOdy won last month’s PolarfluKe tournament, and had this to say about the event: “The tournament was run pretty well, the admin support was good and tournament system from the first day was really nice and different. The Swiss system was nice; I have not played the system ever. It is something different and good and then after that it was single elimination tournament but was very nice.”
Regarding the level of competition at PolarfluKe, GoOdy said “I only played in the grand final vs a South African player. I won 3-0; in some games I was a bit lucky, but overall he did not play bad.”
