Eurogamer has reported that a reliable source has told them that 2K Games is busy working on Borderlands 2, and that an announcement will be made soon. As expected, the report suggests that the game will be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and it will supposedly be out next year.
This is not the first mention that has been made of the sequel. Borderlands 2 first appeared on a game developer’s CV back in April. Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford also told Eurogamer that “you can see that we supported the game like mad with lots of great DLC and you can imagine that we’re going to want to do a lot of things with Borderlands in the future.”
Gearbox’s Borderlands was considered a critical success, although the developer was also responsible for the ill-fated Duke Nukem: Forever, which totally bombed with reviewers.
