Preorder Battlefield 3 on Origin and get a free game

16 August 2011

If you’re one of those flag-waving anti-EA, anti-Origin, anti-fun campaigners, you might want to stop a moment and reconsider that position.

EA’s announced that all Battlefield 3 PC preorders made through their Origin digital distribution service will come with a free download coupon for one of three games, including Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2, and Medal of Honor.

That’s a pretty good deal, considering there’s just no getting around Origin anyway if you’re planning on playing Battlefield 3 on PC. Might as well get some bonus goodies while you’re at it, right? I’d say go with Mass Effect 2 or Dead Space 2, though. Medal of Honor is kind of rubbish.

According to a report on Ars Technica, codes are already going out to users who’ve recently placed preorders for the game. The offer’s only good for August, so get moving.

Battlefield 3 is shaping up to be a real game of the year 2011 contender. The PC version is being touted as the most visually impressive game released to date, and with DICE’s track record of delivering deep, rich and compelling multiplayer games, we have no doubts that Battlefield 3 will not fail to deliver on the gameplay front.

It  will be going head-to-head against the next iteration of Activision’s record breaking Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 3, but all bets are off as to which of the two games will come out on top with gamers and critics alike.

Battlefield 3 launches on 28 October on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
