Facebook is so seldom responsible for bringing joy to the world, but this is one of those special moments – a few weeks back, id Software promised that if 100 000 people pushed the “Like” button on Rage’s official Facebook page, they’d make the iOS game free for a week on the iTunes App Store. And so it has come to pass.

That’s both the iPhone / iPod Touch and hi-def iPad versions, now available for the low, low price of absolutely nothing. How could you say no to that? Exactly.

Of course, it’s not actually available on the local App Store, but that’s hardly going to stop those of us who have cough UK or US accounts, like me. I downloaded it earlier, and am thrilled to report it’s basically House of the Dead with amazing graphics. I know what I’m going to be doing when I’m supposed to be working for the next few days.
