It seems like almost forever ago that Valve promised some Portal 2 DLC “this summer”, probably because it was. That was back in April, by standard reckoning, although Valve’s always kind of run on its own… special schedule.
But better late than never when it comes to official voluntary mandatory testing protocols, as they say over at Aperture Science Labs, and even GLaDOS would agree, I’m sure. Besides, as Valve’s Doug Lombardi reminds Kotaku, “it’s still technically summer”, anyway.
Still no word on quite what this DLC is actually going to be, although Valve has previously said something or other about “new test chambers, leaderboards, both a single- and multiplayer challenge mode, and more.” Something to speculate about in the meantime then, but if it doesn’t include more co-op levels, I’m going to stab every single potato in my kitchen.
Also, it’s going out free on PC, PS3, and Xbox, so that’s nice too.
