Castlevania: Harmony of Despair coming to PSN with extra features, Xbox DLC

22 August 2011

It’s been over a year since Castlevania: Harmony of Despair launched on the Xbox LIVE Arcade, but for those PS3 gamers hanging in there for it, that wait’s totally going to be worth the waiting.

Konami has announced that the PlayStation Network release will bundle some of the previously released Xbox DLC – that includes the “Beauty, Desire, Situation Dire” chapter add-on, featuring the Pyramid of Ruin stage, and the characters Julius Belmont and Yoko Benades – as well as a new 4-player local co-op mode, in addition to the original 6-player online co-op mode. Score!

Harmony of Despair was met with a mixed bag of reviews the first time around, with a Metacritic rating of just 66, although its notorious difficulty might well appeal to those of you who grew up playing Real Games(tm).

No release date has been confirmed yet, but the game is apparently expected to launch next month. In the meantime, here are some pretty screenshots to look at.
