Competition is fierce between Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 right now, arguably the two biggest releases of the year. Both games are vying to get ahead in popularity before release, and what better way to do it than to launch with some sweet Limited Edition gear?

Well Activision isn’t one to do things by halves, so come release we’ll be seeing not just a Limited Edition game, but an entire console as well. A Limited Edition Modern Warfare 3 Xbox console will be launching alongside the game.

The 320GB unit will include two custom controllers, a copy of the game itself, custom sounds, exclusive avatar items and a one month Xbox Live Gold membership.

That sweet little package has been given a US price tag of $399 (about R2900). While I’m not one for Limited Edition gimmicks such as this, I have to admit in spite of myself – it does look pretty badass.

An MW3-branded wireless bluetooth headset launches separately for $69.99 (about R500), and you’ll be able to pick up one of the custom controllers for $59.99 (about R435).
