In line with our new policy to refer to all Deus Ex: Human Revolution updates as “augmentations”, I’m pleased to announce that the game now has a new “Debug Menu” augmentation, courtesy of Something Awful biotech engineer, gibbed.
According to a post over on the Eidos forum, the augmentation enables game manipulation, including no health regeneration, infinite power, infinite ammo, AI options, UI options, as well as a “shop” feature for spawning cash, weapons and mods, and other stuff.
The augmention also features a map selector, so you can jump from one location in the game to any other, just like that. Serious experimental tech, this.
You can grab the augmentation from gibbed’s own site here (15 MB) or this mirror. Note that it only works with the current game version 1.1.622.0 and backwards, but will have to be repackaged with each subsequent version… uh, augmentation.
To install it:
1. Navigate into ..\Steam\steamapps\common\deus ex – human revolution\ and make a backup of patch0.000
2. Unpack the download into the same folder, so you’ll have a “new”, modded patch0.000 file. If you don’t need a backup, over-write the existing file.
3. Play!
