Deus Ex hits over 2 million in sales

10 September 2011

Deus Ex: Human Revolution has been out a little over two weeks, long enough now for us to start looking at numbers, and the numbers are making a lot of people over at Square Enix happy.

Deus Ex is certainly the hot release of the moment, hell, even most of MyGaming is playing it (except James, who prefers to spend his weekend wrecking people’s patios).

The game has currently shipped a cool two million units, and that number should only increase over the coming weeks. Unfortunately, due to a certain Gamestop controversy involving some OnLive vouchers, some of those units have been sent back, muddying the statistics a little bit.

Still, after only 48 hours of sales in the UK, Deus Ex was the 2nd best-seller for the entire month of August, and the sales figures are certainly just what Square Enix was hoping for.

The PC version is currently sitting on an impressive Metacritic score of 89, so the great sales are well deserved.
