In news that shouldn’t surprise anybody, Blizzard has 2-upped with PayPal to provide additional third-party transaction support for the Diablo III Auction House.
The game’s Auction House lets players trade gear and other spoils of inter-dimensional war for in-game currency or real hard cash.

“Gamers want to focus on gaming and prefer an in-game payments solution that’s convenient, easy and secure,” said Carey Kolaja, senior director of emerging opportunities at PayPal.
“Last month we told you that our research has shown that over 70 per cent of gamers are PayPal users, and we believe that’s because we understand that central principle. PayPal’s solution for digital goods will help enrich this experience by providing Blizzard’s audience in several regions of the world with another easy, convenient and safe way for making these purchases.”
In the meantime, we’re still waiting on a launch date for the game, although as recently as last month, Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime was still saying they’re “working hard to ship before the end of the year“.
If they announce “IT’S SHIPPING TOMORROW \:D/!” at BlizzCon next month, I called it first.
