You’ve got to hand it to Sony – they know how to put together a clever marketing rollout:
1. Announce that the PS Vita has only 3-5 hours of battery life.
2. Announce that an extra battery add-on will also be available for purchase, lol.

“If you have noticed, we have just announced the peripherals for PS Vita. And one of the peripherals is the external battery. That extends the battery life of PS Vita,” Sony WorldWide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida told IGN, presumably in between uncontrolled barks of maniacal laughter.
“So if you’re flying from New York to San Francisco, or vice versa, you have no concerns if you have an additional external battery.”
No official confirmation on this bit yet, but I’m really hoping it’s modelled on the BioShock Vita Chambers.
Get it? VITA CHAMBERS BECAUSE IT’S CALLED VITA AND THE EXTRA BATTERY PACK BRINGS IT BACK TO LIFE!
