With the two big shooters of the holiday season just around the corner, it’s easy to forget the other huge titles that are about to hit the shelves.
The exception to this rule of course is Batman, the billionaire ass-kicker featuring in the upcoming sequel to the wildly successful Arkham Asylum. Superhero games have been obnoxiously bad in the past (I’m looking right at you, Superman 64), with a lot of them rushed-out messes designed to cash in on the hype of a movie release.
Arkham Asylum was nothing like that, and many were surprised to find themselves playing a truly great game (I know I was). With what we’ve seen of Arkham City, just a month from release now, the sequel will not disappoint.
Now, earlier today, some more info has been revealed via Gametrailers, including a new villain and some nifty new gadgets with which to crush hordes of minions.
New gadgets like an electro projectile weapon, as well as an ice gun that, in addition to the obvious use of freezing enemies, can be used to create platforms on water.
As for the new villain, that will be famous Gotham City assassin Deadshot, who looks to have a fairly major role in the game.
While fans of the series may be disappointed to see that the Deadshot in the game doesn’t look much like his comic-book counterpart, he’s no doubt an intriguing addition to the villain roster for Arkham City.
