Eidos Montreal’s marketing guy, David Bedard, has shared some interesting details regarding the first Deus Ex: Human Revolution downloadable content pack – The Missing Link.
According to Bedard, the Missing Link will weigh in at 1.5GB and offer roughly 5 hours of additional gameplay time. The DLC will not be worked into the main game, but instead will be accessible from the game’s menu. Disappointingly, experience and augments unlocked in the DLC will not affect the main game.
“The Missing Link will not appear in the main game narrative, and your augmentation set in The Missing Link will not carry over to the main game after you’ve completed it. While gameplay-wise The Missing Link is not tied back into the main game, narratively you will find out things that will shed some much needed light on some of the… shadier sections of the Human Revolution world,” said David.
The Missing Link is being directed by Mary DeMarle, the same narrative designer responsible for the full game, so we can expect similar quality in the writing department.
Hopefully the boss battle(s) weren’t outsourced.
The Missing Link is due out in October.
