How to get early Battlefield 3 beta access

Yesterday EA officially announced that the Battlefield 3 open beta will kick off on all launch platforms on 29 September. The open beta will give all gamers a chance to try the game out, and of course, provide feedback that should ultimately lead to a better game on release.

EA has confirmed that there will be no gameplay restrictions in the beta, so you can play as much as you like and there will be no cap on how far you can rank-up your soldier and what items you can unlock.

While the open beta goes live next Thursday, 29 September, there are a few ways for those impatient gamers to get in a few days early.

According to the official Battlefield blog “If you pre-order Battlefield 3 (PC digital download version) on Origin before September 25th, or if you have registered your first-hand copy (by activating its Online Pass) of Medal of Honor: Limited Edition/Tier 1 Edition, you will get 48 hours early access to the Beta, meaning you can start playing Tuesday, September 27th”.

Xbox 360 owners will receive their personal early access code via e-mail.

PlayStation 3 owners who qualify for early access should automatically see the beta early when they log into PSN.

Like Xbox 360 gamers, PC gamers should receive an early access beta key via e-mail as long as they fulfil one of the specified criteria.

The Battlefield 3 open beta will run until 10 October.
