Infinity Ward “doesn’t care about sales numbers” for Modern Warfare 3

22 September 2011

The war of words between the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 camps has taken a dramatic turn today, with Infinity Ward dropping one of those bombshell “LOL, /CARE” quotes that make any response look kind of lame.

“We don’t care about sales numbers, we don’t care about competition, we don’t care about beating anyone,” the dev’s Robert Bowling told IGN.

“Our 100 per cent focus is making a game that we’re going to love to play, that we’re going to be proud of, and that we know that our fans are going to play. To us, we don’t care if there are three people playing it or 30 million people playing it. If there are three people having a great time then we’ve done our job correctly and we will be happy.”

Of course, it’s probably easy to be so blasé about it when your last game was pretty much one of the biggest things in the history of time.
