Crysis launch on console happening next week

26 September 2011

EA has confirmed that they’ll be dropping the original Crysis onto console next week – 4 October 2011.

The game’s been remixed into CryENGINE 3 and supports stereoscopic 3D, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Crysis will be released as a digital download on the PSN Store and Xbox LIVE Games on Demand Marketplace, and is tagged at £15.99 (or about R200) and 1600 MSP respectively.

It might have taken four years to make this happen, but it’s never too late to shoot people in the face, I think.

“By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming,” said Crytek guy, Cevat Yerli. So there’s that too.

Unlike the original PC launch of the game, however, this version won’t include any multiplayer features, or either of the expansions, Warhead and Wars. Not yet, anyway – inb4 premium DLC, maybe?
