Dead Space 3 details leaked

27 September 2011

Siliconera claims to have gotten hold of some early information regarding Dead Space 3. Apparently the game is currently in development, which should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone who knows anything about the video games industry.

Unlike the previous two games, it will not be set on a space ship, but instead will take place on the frozen planet Tau Volantis, where players will once again step into the boots of Isaac Clarke, where this time he has to wade through “white-out blizzard conditions”.

The game will open when the ship in which Isaac is travelling crash-lands on the frozen planet, and he has to make his way to an abandoned waystation where he takes shelter from the harsh climate.

There he finds another survivor, who reveals that there are yet more survivors that moved to another facility. One of those survivors is Ellie, who Dead Space veterans will remember from the previous game. So needless to say, Isaac kits himself out in a snow suit and makes his way out into the blizzard to find Ellie and the other survivors.

Apparently he will unite will Ellie later in the game, and together with someone called Jennifer, they will climb a mountain.

Jennifer, a technology expert, is reluctant to make the climb. She is apparently preoccupied with finding some codex which she plans to access by reverse engineering some research conducted by a group called Rosetta.

This indicates an interesting sub-plot, which is just what we expect from this franchise.

At this point the enemies in Dead Space 3 are being referred to as the “Hive Mind”.

Lending credibility to the report, Siliconera claims that the information comes from the same source that months ago leaked details about Electronic Arts’ Syndicate Reboot.
