If you’d given up all hope of seeing a new Jade Empire game, don’t throw yourself off that mountain crag just yet – there may be a glimmer of good news on yonder horizon.
Speaking at the recent Eurogamer Expo, BioWare’s Ray Muzyka has confirmed that the company hasn’t binned the series just yet.
“It’s an IP, it’s a setting that we’re really passionate about, and we still are. Both Greg [Zeschuk] and I were big believers in the IP,” said Muzyka.
“We’re just looking for the right way to deploy it.”
The original game was launched on Xbox back in 2005, and on PC in 2007, with rumours of a sequel doing the rounds ever since.
“We have a lot of different projects now on a lot of different platforms, and you might see some of [Jade Empire] in the future. You never know,” added Muzyka.
“We don’t have anything to announce on it right now, but it is a franchise that’s near and dear to us.”
Which is also pretty much exactly the same thing he said in 2009.
