After announcing a modern reboot of the classic Syndicate franchise, EA has revealed that Syndicate will be released on 24 February, 2012 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
EA aims “to provide a challenging action shooter for today’s gamers as well as fans of the original.”
Developer Starbreeze Studios made an official announcement at an EA showcase, saying ” We are excited to finally reveal what we’ve been working on the past couple years. It’s been a great experience working with EA, and an amazing opportunity for us to use our expertise in the first person shooter and action genres to bring back, and reignite, the signature action/espionage gameplay of Syndicate.”
The game will be set in 2069 and take place against the backdrop of dark corporate warfare fuelled by four mega-corporations: Eurocorp, Caymen, Global and Aspari.
Syndicate will be an action shooter, with reports indicating that it will be a mixture between Crysis-style shooter gameplay and a sci-fi world similar to Mass Effect.
