Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is going to be slashing its way into our lives next year, bringing with it some action-RPG goodness for us to enjoy.
The game brings some pretty big names together, in terms of design, lore and presentation, to forge the world of Amalur – a universe conceived by best-selling author, R. A. Salvatore.
If that name doesn’t ring a bell, just appreciate the fact that he’s packed in and created 10,000 years of fiction into the universe.
Reckoning also features the direction and designs of Todd McFarlane, whom comic fans will recognize as the artist behind Spider-Man and creator of Spawn – and that can only be a good thing, right?

Check out these other features you can also expect from 38 Studios’ upcoming epic:
RPG Action combat – Create your own combat style using a dynamic combat system that allows you to integrate magic and melee attacks and finish enemies off with “Fateshift” kills.
Open World – With a main storyline, side-quests and open-world exploration, the game promises over 60 hours of gameplay (probably for completionists only)
Destiny System – Create your own character using unique skills and abilities and go further using the Destiny System, which unlocks new “Destinies” based on how you choose to play.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be released on 10 February 2012 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
