Dragon Age: Redemption trailer hits the web

5 October 2011

A trailer for Dragon Age: Redemption, the 6-part web-series based on Dragon Age, went live today (5 October 2011).

The web-series was conceived and written by Felicia Day (who also stars in it, naturally) in collaboration with BioWare, and will launch at the same time as the Mark of the Assassin DLC for Dragon Age 2 on October 11.

Mark of the Assassin revolves around the character that Day plays in the Redemption, Tallis, as she and Hawke attempt to steal a jewel called ‘The Heart of the Many’ from a heavily fortified estate outside Kirkwall.

The trailer doesn’t exactly spell out how Redemption fits into the greater picture of things; except for obviously expanding on the character of Tallis, and providing a bit of fan-service to Dragon Age aficionados.

The series looks like it has some decent production quality, and will have loads of things DA fans will recognize – like blood splatters, awkward banter, and a Qunari warlock – portrayed by Doug Jones (of Hellboy fame).

Other than that, there’s some running around in the wilderness, slow motion hacking and slashing, and obligatory shiny effects.

I guess we’ll have to wait until the web series premiers on 11 October to see exactly how everything fits together.
