Duke Nukem Forever “Hail to the Icons” DLC, update dropping next week

Gearbox has confirmed that the “Hail to the Icons Parody Pack” DLC will be launching next week Tuesday. Groovy, etc.

The DLC adds four new maps themed around Call of Duty, Team Fortress 2, and other games that were actually good, to DNF’s roster, as well as three new multiplayer modes – Freeze Tag, Hail to the King, and Hot Potato.

It’s free to all First Access Club members, and 800 MSP on Xbox or $9.99 on PS3 and Steam for everybody else.

“In addition, updates to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Duke Nukem Forever will roll out the same day, adding support for the new content along with various optimisations and bug fixes,” writes Gearbox community manager Chris Faylor, over on the official forums.

“Among the tweaks are reduced load times on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as improved texture streaming on Xbox 360.”

In the meantime, Gearbox has put up a special Hail to the Icons mini-site so you can check out the goods ahead of time.
