Relic Games has confirmed that the promised free co-op update for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine will be deploying simultaneously for PC, Xbox, and PS3 on Tuesday, 25 October (or Wednesday, 26 October for those of you on EU PSN accounts).
The Exterminatus add-on features online co-op for up to four players, in a separate Space Marines versus Orks mode with the same name, and includes two scenarios – Assault on Hab Center Andreas, and Escape from Kalkys Facility.

You’ll be able to choose between the Tactical Marine, Devastator, and Assault classes, and attach any previously unlocked multiplayer perks.
So basically, it’s a pretty standard Horde-type mode, with dynamic challenges, XP progression, and leaderboards.
The news comes through Eurogamer, who were also told that more DLC is in the pipeline and that “there will be a free component to them as well as some paid components”.
Presumably that’s going to include additional content for Exterminatus mode.
