Rumour control: Forza 4 players “unfairly banned” from Xbox LIVE

17 October 2011

Another week, another Xbox LIVE banhammer drama.

This time around, it seems a bunch of Forza 4 players have been “unfairly banned” from playing the game on Microsoft’s service, although “unfairly banned” is often shorthand for “BLACK OPS 10TH PRESTIGE 1600 MSP”, so make of this what you will.

“We are investigating claims from a select group of Forza 4 players who believe they have been unfairly banned from Xbox LIVE,” writes Turn 10 community manager, Brian Ekberg.

“We take piracy issues very seriously and will be investigating this matter case by case. If we find accounts that have been banned in error, we will reinstate them.”

According to a report over on Eurogamer, there’s some speculation that the accounts might have been banned for buying in-game credits with real-world cash.

Microsoft recently had to ‘fess up to bollocksing up with a massive wave of Xbox LIVE bans for “marketplace theft”, only to discover later on that they’d done so in error.
