Battlefield 3 beta stats are in; 1.5 billion soldiers killed

18 October 2011

DICE has released its Battlefield 3 beta report, confirming 1.5 billion casualties of war. A moment of silence for those fallen 3D character models, please.

According to the official stats, more than 8 million players took part in the beta, swapping some 47 billion bullets over the two week event.

“Did you know that if we had an empty 9mm casing for every shot fired in the Open Beta, we would have enough brass to melt and build almost 3,900 SU-27 Flanker jets? Okay, Flankers are not made out of brass, but still,” writes DICE product manager, Tommy Rydling.

Other big numbers include:

•    2.2 billion regenerated health
•    19 million dog tags claimed
•    21 million M-COM stations blown up
•    The longest headshot distance recorded was 635.6 metres

Somewhat surprisingly, there’s no listed number of people whining because the Battlefield 3 beta didn’t live up to their expectations.
