Call of Duty: Elite beta going offline tonight

19 October 2011

Activision is shutting down the Call of Duty: Elite beta tonight ahead of its official launch alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 next month.

Until then, the Connect, Compete and Improve sections will stay closed, but the Career section and Call of Duty: Black Ops stats will be opened up to everybody sometime “later this week”, apparently.

Great excitement.

“Beachhead Studio would like to thank everyone for their feedback and participation in the beta, as it’s helping to make Call of Duty Elite an even better service,” transmitted Activision’s PR robot.

Activision is also very keen for beta testers to know their stats are safe, and will be carried over for the full launch, and that mom’s so proud of her little face-shooter.

When the service goes up, there will be both free and paid subscription options, with the premium option obviously getting all the good stuff.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Elite will be live and loud on 15 November.
