Red Orchestra 2 gets Rising Storm expansion

19 October 2011

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad released earlier this year in September and was met with a rather warm reception, despite a few buggy hiccups upon launch.

The realistic World War II first-person shooter, as the name implies, focused mainly on the battle of Stalingrad and surrounding operations.

The key difference?

The focus was on the German and Russian campaigns of the war, rather than the usual Allies vs Axis spats we’ve become accustomed to in games.

Now it’s getting an expansion in the form of Rising Storm, from 1C Company.

Rising Storm is shifting focus to the Pacific front of the war, focusing on key battles that took place between US Marines and the Imperial Japanese Army in places like Iwo Jima, Peleliu and other exotic sounding names.

The expansion will bring new weapons like flame-throwers and grenade booby-traps, too.

The Rising Storm is brewing in 2012.
