Batman: Arkham City PS3 Collector's Edition delayed in SA

20 October 2011

NAG.co.za has reported that the PS3 Collector’s Edition of Batman: Arkham City is not going to be available when the game launches this Friday (21 October 2011).

Apparently if you pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition, it will be available from “early next week”, according to NAG.

We tried to get hold of local distrobutor of Warner Bros. Interactive products, Nu-Metro, to find out more, but no one was available for comment.

The Arkham City Collector’s Edition comes packaged with a custom Batman statue; a book filled with Batman artwork; the OST as well as in-game content.

It looks like a bit of a tough break for anyone who ordered the Collector’s Edition and was hoping to get stuck into the game that has critics salivating.

For everyone else though, get ready for Batman: Arkham City as it swoops down on us this Friday.

Update: We have now got hold of Nu Metro and they have provided some details on the cause of the delays. There are a number of factors that can cause delays of shipment; custom stops, flight delays, publisher delays, and so on.

In this case, a Nu Metro respresentative explained that due to the busy airline freight period being experienced in the build up to the festive season, the airline carrying the PlayStation 3 Batman: Arkham City Collector Edition’s decided to bump the cargo off their flight. Nu Metro explained that this decision was out of their hands.

Nu Metro said that the cargo will be on route and should arrive on Friday 21 October 2011, to be delivered to stores on Monday 24 October 2011, hopefully ready for purchase by Tuesday.

Nu Metro profusely apologised to customers for the delay, but reiterated that it was out of their control. The company said it was pleased to have all other formats and editions available in stores on time.

While (most) console gamers will be having a batastic time this weekend, PC gamers will have to hang on to their Batarangs until 18 November 2011.
