A new trailer has given away the release date for the new generation SSX in the US – 14 February 2012.
While there has been no confirmation of when the UK will be getting it (we usually bounce off of their dates in South Africa), typical release schedule logic says that it will be on the Friday of the same week (17 February 2012).
SSX was THE snowboarding game to play back in the PS2’s glory days, and EA are looking to take things to new level with this re-invention of the franchise.
It may look a lot more serious than previous titles – especially SSX Tricky, which was as ridiculous as it was awesome – but from watching the trailer, you can tell that EA are staying true to the series’ roots.
Night-time boarding, natural obstructions, avalanches, cliffs and general batsh*t-crazy, gravity-defying stunts are all on show; just to put aside any doubt you might have that this game isn’t as insane as it was before.
SSX will be coming to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in February next year; start counting down the days and looking out for the first snow to fall on your screens.
