Dead Island console update coming ASAP says Deep Silver

24 October 2011

Last week, Techland dropped a massive update for the PC version of zombie holocaust-‘em-up Dead Island, and this week, console gamers are waiting anxiously for their turn.

So when is it coming? “As soon as we can”, a rep from publisher Deep Silver has told VG247.

“We’re going to work on getting the update out as soon as we can – hurrying it along too fast will just give us a bad patch,” information officer Aubrey Norris said.

She also noted on Twitter that “People put so much pressure on devs to announce specific release dates and then when something happens to change that they just rage again,” then added “I’ve seen tons of instances of fan rage when devs [announce delays]. ‘Oh it needs more time? It must be sh** then.’”

The update includes a level cap increase to 60, new weapon mods, and a number of fixes and improvements.
